TPA is a leading European supplier of temporary access hire solutions to a variety of markets including utilities, power & transmission, rail, infrastructure and specialist event sectors. With a wide spanning base of product solutions to hire including portable roadways, walkways and ground protection, modular floating pontoons and an extensive range of rail access equipment.
As an HGV Class 1 Lead Driver Operative, you will work as part as a team on our rigid & drawbar vehicles throughout the UK. However, driving will form only part of your duties, as once at your destination, you will use the lorry loader crane on your vehicle to install and recover our unique range of temporary roadway products. You will work on sites ranging from power transmission projects and major civil engineering works, to sporting events, music festivals and solar farms.
This unique role will require spending time away from home, sometimes for several nights per week, where sharing a sleeper cab is the norm. Weekend working will be expected if needed.
The successful applicant will have good literacy and numeracy skills, a flexible can-do attitude, a keen eye for safe working, and be physically fit due to the demanding nature of the work on site.
A digital tacho card is essential in our industry; applications will not be considered without this. A CSCS card, Driver CPC, CPCS Lorry Loader (hook), and BESC OHL would be advantageous but full training would be provided to successful applicants.
TPA work on many sensitive sites in the defence, nuclear and civil service sectors and operate a rigorous drugs and alcohol testing policy.
