As a Workshop operative based in our busy OSU department, you will maintain our fleet of safety equipment to a standard that complies with all current Health and Safety at Work legislation. Your working hours will include daytime and backshift hours, where full on the job training will be given.
Your responsibilities will include function testing and maintaining health and safety equipment, ensuring turnaround times of kit within the OSU are kept to a minimum. This will require applying a “test and run” procedure for items that have been transferred into the OSU workshop from other depots around the UK and which have been returned from customer hire. Equipment will need function testing/assessing as to whether they are suitable to go back to one of our 20 depots around the UK and Scotland for hiring back. If items are damaged or out of date they will need to go to our main workshop to be fully repaired and serviced.
Additional ad-hoc duties will include refilling oxygen cylinders, PAT testing of electrical items, cleaning of kit, replacing items such as batteries, bags, pads and accessories. You will also be required to take responsibility for dept. cleanliness, safety and supplies through the course of each shift.
