    We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our busy Brandon Hire Station finance Centre in Bristol.

    In this role, you will assist the Financial Controller and Finance Team to provide robust and continuously improving accounting and management information to the business.

    Duties & responsibilities:


    • Analyse and provide commentary on variance against budget and monthly movements.
    • Assist in preparing and fully documenting monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Periodically review reporting produced against customer requirements, to continuously improve output and production methods.
    • Support other functions, such as Purchase Ledger, Credit Control and Transport, where relevant, with invoice or account queries.
    • Monitor and manage shared finance mailboxes, completing tasks in relation to these.
    • Support the treasury function with petty cash claims, expense claims, cash flow forecasting.
    • Ensure continuous improvement in key accounting processes, with the aim of increasing time available for adding value.
    • Liaise with other parts of the business (such as divisional finance teams), ensuring that strong relationships are built across the Group and good customer service is provided.

    Skills & experience required:


    • Starting AAT qualification.
    • You must have a positive attitude and wish to take responsibility for quality of customer service provided.
    • Experience of the hire industry or retail/wholesale preferred.
    • You will have clear evidence of working to deadlines in a time pressured situation.
    • You will have the ability to prioritise workload to ensure both short and long term goals are met.
    • You will have a high degree of competence in Microsoft Excel.
