    HSS Hire is the UK’s leading tools and equipment hire company. 2021 is shaping up to be a great year for HSS and we have some really ambitious plans to see growth across our business. To support these plans we are looking for a Payroll Administrator to provide a full and efficient payroll service to our HSS colleagues whilst working alongside our established Payroll and HR Administration team.

    Bringing the right person into our team is very important and we need to make sure the successful candidate can adhere to our core values.

    Firstly, we Make It Happen. You’ll provide ‘front-line’ support for our Payroll team ensuring that our monthly payrolls, supplementary runs and EOY updates are efficiently managed within strict deadlines. You’ll manage the Payroll mailbox and be the first point of contact for queries from the HR team, managers and colleagues, so confidentiality and communicating skills are key to the role. As the Payroll team deal with large volumes of data you’ll need to be comfortable using Excel, including VLookups, Pivot Tables and Conditional Formatting to manipulate the data.


    We Make It Better. We’re always looking to improve our processes to better support our colleagues and you will support the team and wider HR team with projects and process improvements. Managing a busy workload and prioritising is fundamental to the role and being able to manage expectations from colleagues will to assist your position.


    Let’s Make It Together. We’re part of the wider HR department and we work closely with the team to ensure we are supporting our colleagues the best we can. As part of this you’ll provide support to the HR administration team when needed either by helping to manage the HR mailbox or supporting with pay run critical input. We use ResourceLink as our Payroll system, so experience working with this platform is beneficial. Also we have colleagues based in the Republic of Ireland and having experience of running ROI Payroll will further support you in this role.
