  • We are looking to appoint an Operations Manager who possesses excellent people management skills in particular, to ensure we continue to deliver exceptional equipment availability and support standards across our UK wide operational teams.

    UK Forks and Higher Access have a network of 8 depots across the UK responsible for the preparation and support of a large range of industrial material handling, powered access and construction support equipment. We continually aim to deliver the highest levels of product availability and service support for our customers. In this role you will ensure that we continue to offer the best range of equipment for hire, first class field service, optimum fleet management as well as keeping abreast of new industry and product innovations.

    Reporting to the Operations Director you will assist with system and process development to increase our operational efficiencies specifically in our depot, workshop and field service support areas, as well as managing and supporting activities in technical support, engineer competence, inventory and workshop standards areas to achieve budgeted targets across the engineering operation. Candidates should be ideally located in the Midands/South England.

    Skills / experience required:


    • Has excellent people management skills
    • Strong technical service related background, preferably in material handling
    • Ability to remote manage teams
    • Experience in applying and maintaining workshop 5S standards
    • Knowledge of the construction/civil engineering industry preferred
    • Operational experience including stock supply & control and multi-location audit management essential
    • Skilled at analysing fleet and service data and creating plans for continuous improvement
    • Understands the importance of HSE Compliance
    • Qualified to IOSH or NEBOSH standard
    • Operating knowledge of LOLER and PUWER
    • Strong ISO awareness across quality, environment and safety standards
    • Worked in a customer focused environment
    • Be prepared to travel nationally
    • Outgoing personality, flexible in approach, team player, influencer
    • Valid driving licence
