    The Role:

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join our Procurement team in our Glasgow Head Office for fleet maintenance expenditure for a wide range of capital products and equipment including unmanned plant and tools. We are looking for a confident and assertive individual, with excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with both external suppliers and internal customers. You should be a proactive, professional and self-motivated individual and have a proven track record in supplier management as the role will include negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value for services for the group. In addition, the Buyer will actively seek out new products and services for commercial and technical appraisal.

    Applicants should demonstrate the following:

    • Significant experience working as a Buyer within a multi-site environment across a national network, preferably within the construction/plant hire/engineering industry
    • A proven track record in supplier management and delivering cost/efficiency reductions with value added
    • Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and proficient in completing supplier agreements
    • Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with successfully whilst developing strategies with suppliers
    • A CIPS qualification or equivalent knowledge gained through on the job experience.
