    The Role:

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join our Procurement team in our Glasgow Head Office for non-capital expenditure including but not limited to PPE, utilities, stationary, promotional materials and corporate gifts. We are looking for a confident and assertive individual, with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to build strong relationships with both external suppliers and internal customers. You should be a proactive, professional and self-motivated individual and have a proven track record in supplier management as the role will include negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value for services for the group. In addition, the Buyer will actively seek out new products and services for commercial and technical appraisal.

    Applicants should demonstrate the following:

    • Significant experience working as a Buyer preferably within the construction/engineering/plant and tool hire sectors
    • A proven track record in supplier management and delivering cost/efficiency savings
    • Strong commercial acumen and proficient in completing supplier agreements
    • Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate successfully
    • A CIPS qualification or equivalent knowledge gained through on the job experience.
