We are currently looking to appoint a Major Project Manager to identify and secure large scale temporary propping projects, predominantly in the London and South East region. The role holder will be capable of gathering and assessing technical information, communicating an accurate design brief to our design team and then presenting the submission to the customer. When a project is secured, they will be responsible for overseeing its delivery and managing it within agreed timescales. This will require a blend of technical ability, commercial acumen and excellent communications skills.
This role will entail developing and maintaining relationships with temporary works engineers, estimators and senior figures throughout the industry. You will also identify and pursue new business opportunities, promote product awareness, cooperate with our regional sales teams and cross sell other Groundforce products where appropriate. As the need arises, the successful candidate will also be tasked with recruiting and managing Sales Engineers, within their assigned area of responsibility.
Our ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the construction industry, including the UK construction supply chain. Ideally they will have either a proven track record in technical sales, be a design engineer within the industry, or may be a site based engineer, with the ability to make the transition into a sales management role.
A suitable Civil Engineering qualification (Degree/HNC) is desirable, however we are primarily looking for somebody with a good understanding and experience within the civil engineering industry and the desire to succeed in a technical sales environment. The ability to understand construction drawings is essential, as is having the drive and resilience to work in a target orientated environment. They will have a full, clean, UK driver’s license.
