We have seen a radical re-engineering of group activities with a move from a broadly based plant hire enterprise to specialist equipment outsourcing businesses, which has proved very successful. 

    The group currently comprises 6 business divisions: Groundforce & TPA Roadways; UK Forks; Airpac Bukom Oilfield Services; Hire Station, Torrent Trackside and TR Group. 

    Our businesses offer the rental and sale of specialist products and associated services to a diverse range of end markets, including construction, civil engineering, rail, water, oil and gas, outdoor events and housebuilding.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hire Controller to join our busy team located in our client’s offices in Thurnscoe. The successful applicant will be working on one of our biggest and most important customer accounts and will be tasked with building strong internal and external relationships with a view to maximising business development opportunities.

    This role is joining an established and unique multi-skilled team that operate across 7 specialist divisions of Vp Plc to ensure our customers’ expectations are fulfilled.

    High levels of customer service are essential, an excellent phone manner and the confidence to manage customer enquiries for hire and sale transactions.

    Key skills and experience desired:


    • Experience of working in a customer service role
    • GCSE level Maths and English (or equivalent)
    • Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
    • Confident with strong communication skills
    • Driving licence
    • Ability to pick up new tasks quickly, follow procedures and help other team members

    To succeed in this role, you must be well organised and methodical with a high level of accuracy, with ability to build effective relationships with customers and internal colleagues.
