  • Job Description
    Assist in various duties including shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements, ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation. Receiving incoming material/equipment and routing to appropriate area or team.
    Painting, cleaning and washing down equipment and servicing items ready for hire. Yard presentation and up keep, loading/unloading vehicles, equipment weekly checks.


    Assist with general service of non mechanical plant
    Control delivery and collection vehicles for all wallows lane departments
    Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas
    Inspect wallows yard and Bescot yards for tidyness and report condition to team leader/manager

    Working effectivley within the team to include;

    • Excellent Time keeping
    • Processing departmental work instructions for your allocated tasks
    • Adjusting work procedures to meet yard demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow
    • Adhering to company policies and safety regulations and risk assessments
    • Recommending improvements to quality of service and efficiency
    • Continuously improve yard operations
    • Maintain good stock levels and help in implementing stock takes

    Participate with Internal and External Audits relevant to the department.
    Continual Implementation of ideas to improve efficiencies, safety and profitability of Department.
    Ensure Goods are picked packed from all departments accurately and efficiently. Quarterly and annual stock checks including assets
    Assist with trial erections on bridge work / loading
    Goods in/out training center

    Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the team. Help in developing departmental work instructions for all tasks - what we have always done is not always best practice
    Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow
    Continuously improve Depot operations.
    Conferring with team leaders to coordinate activities and share labour.
    Initiate good working relations, lead by example

    Maintain excellent levels of house keeping within your area
    Waste segregation/skip inspections, empting of bins, reporting environmental nearmisses
    Record numbers of units handled or moved, using delivery/collection notes or requisitions.
    Report any near-misses and close out where possible
    Conduct general workshop/yard cleanliness and litter management
    Complete housekeeping duties in all area’s of wallows lane

    Goods/equipment off loaded and stored correctly, maintain yard and store area Service items to agreed SLA

    Team leaders and drivers and plant fitters

    The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:


    • Good knoledge of Yard activities and equipmentDriving licence and FLT licence.
    • Crawler crane licience
    • Maintenance experience.
    • Able to work in all weathers and have a good level of fitness
    • Strong work and H&S ethics. Approachable. Always have company interests at heart
    • Flexible and willing to learn and develop
