Service, repair and maintain equipment, plant and tools
Based in Walsall Depot occasional site visits for servicing/repairs
7.30am - 5.30pm O/T as required
Service/Repair a wide variety of mechanical/non mechanical plant
Carry out designated tasks as outlined by Team leader or the department manager
Inspect tools/small plant and develop a scope of repairs;
Diagnose and fault find customer and operator complaints;
Liaise with Teamleader to update job progress and completion times;
Carry out tasks in accordance with Equipment Service & Hire policies and procedures;
Work in and maintain a working environment with an acceptable level of housekeeping;
Correctly use and maintain P.P.E. at all times;
Complete and update Job Cards for all work tasks.
Use and maintain workshop tooling in accordance to working specifications and conditions.
Maintain an accurate time-keeping record relating to work tasks; Monitor and record the use of workplace consumables;
Serve as a back up to wallows lane supervisor in their absence
Working effectivley within the team to include
Excellent Time keeping
Processing Departmental work instructions for your allocated tasks; what we have always done is not always best practise
Adjusting work procedures to meet dept demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow.
Adhering to company policies and safety regulations and risk assessments.
Recommending improvements to quality of service and efficiency.
Continuously improve dept operations, conferring with your teamleader to coordinate activities.
Maintain excellent levels of house keeping.
Maintain and record job cards
Complete weekley checks as allocated
Ensure the highest standards of quality control are achieved within the dept department.
Give full support to teamleader
Report any nearmisses and close out where possible
Service and maintaintain ALL equipment in line with manufacturers guidelines/Specifications
Maintain the agreed turnaround time on all equipment
KEY MEASURES & TARGETS
Good stock levels maintained, Adhere to service/repair standards
The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
Experience of electrical fault-finding, hydraulics and general service and maintenance
Experience of working on Large plant, Excavators,dumpers, compressors etc
Conversant with Stihl,Honda,Wacker and 110v power tools
Diesel and petrol engine service and repairs experience essential
Motivated to ensure all maintenance is carried out to a high standard
Ability to work as part of a team but also on own initiative when required
Full Clean driving licence (Minor points accepted)
NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent in plant maintenance would be beneficial
Possession of a CSCS card is desirable
