  • We are looking for a Principal Compliance Engineer to join the team

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Compliance Engineer to join the JCB Materials Handling & Access Team, reporting to the Technical Lead.

    Based at JCB World Headquarters, the successful candidate will join a small dynamic team, working to expand and improve the JCB Access product range. As a result, this role gives the right person the unique chance to shape the future by being involved from conception through to delivery.

    About the role:   

    • Demonstrating and ensuring continued compliance to EN280, ANSI A92.20 & ISO16368.
    • Coordinating approval from notified bodies to relevant legislation.
    • Planning and facilitation of type tests both internally and with external test providers.
    • Simultaneous engineering: Presentation and contribution at design reviews to ensure that all designs comply from the start.
    • The creation and maintenance of formal design documentation; DFMEA, DVPSOR and machine technical construction files.
    • Reviewing and approving internal test reports.
    • Assisting with the creation and maintenance of customer level, software functional requirement documentation.
    • Representing JCB in external standards committees.

    About you:         

    • A working knowledge of compliance, legislation & standards.
    • Educated to HNC or degree level in an engineering subject.
    • A sound grasp of engineering principles with a logical approach to problem solving.
    • Able to prioritise and progress multiple projects in parallel.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Be self-starting and have the ability to make things happen.
    • Take ownership of projects they are involved with.
    • Be able to communicate and build good relationships at all levels across the business.
    • Have a desire to invent the future and lead rather than follow.
    • Have a high level of commitment, flexibility, and enthusiasm as well as a sense of urgency.
    • Be familiar with functional safety and EN13849.

     

    An understanding of access, lifting, off highway construction or agricultural equipment would be advantageous.
