  • Our Maintenance Engineers get the rewards their expertise deserves

JCB is a world class business that has been at the forefront of mechanical technology for more than 70 years—and we’re still family run. Whether it’s a Backhoe Loader, Wheeled Excavator or Teletruck forklift, innovative design and market-leading build quality means our machines are always in demand wherever there’s work to be done. We’re always growing in new areas and developing what we do—join us and you’ll do the same in your career.

    A crucial role

Right now, we’re looking for Maintenance Engineers to join teams across the manufacturing function here at JCB. You might be an Electrical or a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer—or both—whatever your speciality, you’ll keep our machinery working day and night in a role that’s every bit as important to our organisation as the pay and rewards suggest.

What's more, you’ll develop your skills with training in preparation for your move up to a Technician or Team Leader role over time. You’ll even have the chance to mentor apprentices starting their engineering careers with us.

Working varied shift patterns, you’ll problem solve, troubleshoot and drive improvement—sometimes in live environments—and work with machine tools, conveyors, welding robots etc. You’ll also learn to fix highly specialised machinery that very few people in the world can repair. That’s why you’ll be so essential to our team and keeping our operation running smoothly.

For those who strive for better

Our culture is central to everything we do here. JCB people always want to have a positive impact with everything they do. With your sense of urgency, ownership and commitment, you’ll fit in just fine here. And with the ideas you’ll contribute to team tasks, you’ll be able to go one better than that. You won’t just maintain, you’ll improve.

Experienced in a live maintenance environment, you’ll have completed an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship and be qualified HNC level in your chosen discipline, or have equivalent experience. Our training will teach you the specifics of our machinery—but you will need a good understanding of fundamentals like reactive and proactive maintenance and work schedules. You’ll also know the flexible nature of maintenance work—then again, being able to save the day whenever required is probably what got you into this in the first place.

With a company that gives you more

You’ll work for a company that values expertise not just in rewards but in real employee care. A competitive salary, access to our company pension scheme, medical insurance and dental care are some of the ways we do that. Then there’s the 33 days’ holiday, and the JCB Rewards Hub, which gives you discounts with a range of high street retailers. Feel like biking to work? There’s our Cycle To Work Scheme.

And is building a brighter future

JCB is an equal opportunities employer. We value diversity and welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds.

Recruitment Agencies: JCB does not accept any speculative approaches to present candidates for advertised vacancies.
