  • JCB Attachments are looking for a Design Engineer to join the team

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Design Engineer to join JCB Attachments.

    Reporting to the Principal Engineer/Design Manager, the successful applicant will join a small focused team working on a large range of machine attachments as well as a range of light equipment including exciting products such as a fully electric tracked dumper.

     

    Experience and Skills required for this role include:

    • Logical problem solving techniques.
    • 3D CAD system operation (NX preferable) to conduct design and concept work.
    • Understanding of Finite Element Analysis (Ansys preferable) and report writing.
    • Demonstrate a sound grasp of mechanical & hydraulic engineering principles and their application
    • Ability to interface with internal and external customers on a technical level.
    • Self-starting and ability to make things happen.
    • Experience in Agricultural or Construction Machines / Attachments is preferable but not mandatory.

     

    About the role:

    • Creation of drawings and bills of materials. 
    • Design for ease of assembly, manufacture and service. 
    • Coordination of project timings and resource
    • Identification and implementation of cost reduction opportunities.
    • Presentation at weekly management reviews.
    • Develop and validate design specifications.
    • Conduct/assist with product testing at JCB test facilities.
    • Creation of Technical Construction File documentation including; DVPSOR, Risk Assessments, Test Reports, Change Documentation etc.

     

    About you:

    Ideally, you will have a strong engineering background (minimum 2 years in full time role), possess a mechanical engineering or related Degree/HND or equivalent experience and be working towards Engineering chartership. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment (to the role and their own professional development), flexibility, a sense of urgency and ownership of projects.

    The ability to communicate clearly, across all levels is a pre-requisite. Prior knowledge of machine design and a working knowledge of JCB engineering systems is preferable, but training will be provided where required.
