We are currently looking to appoint a Transport Planner to join our busy team in our Morley office. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively within a fast paced transport team assisting with planning vehicle routes, ensuring that all movements are cost effective and in line with customer requirements. You’ll have the ability to negotiate transport rates with external haulage partners as well as raising purchase orders. In addition to this you’ll liaise with key internal and external stakeholders supporting with stock management & replenishment between our wide reaching network of operational depots.

Skills & experience required:

• Knowledge of shoring/hire industry advantageous
• Knowledge of construction/housing/civil engineering industry advantageous.
• Good geographical knowledge of UK essential. Geographical knowledge of Europe desirable.
• Ability to interpret digital tachographs advantageous.
• Knowledge of the driving time & working time directive advantageous.
• Knowledge of transport compliance/accreditation schemes advantageous.
• Knowledge of driver CPC requirements advantageous.

I.T. Skills:

• Basic computer literacy – MS Office/Outlook skills
• Knowledge of transport fleet management/scheduling software advantageous.
• Excellent telephone manner and also email structuring skills essential.
