  • JCB is looking for an Inventory Planner to join the team at JCB World Parts Centre

JCB is a truly world class, family owned business. We are proud of our achievements and recognise that future growth and success is shaped by the ambition of the JCB team. If you are looking for a career with a business where people really count, look no further than JCB.

    Overview of the role:

As a member of the exciting and varied JCB Service inventory team, you will be responsible for an exciting and varied portfolio of suppliers, covering a number of key commodity areas, supporting JCB’s dealers & customers globally.

Availability is critical to JCB’s drive for the industry’s finest customer support; you will be responsible for the management of the inbound supply chain across a suite of suppliers, including reviewing risk of run-out, issuing schedules to suppliers, tackling overdue concerns, and developing suppliers to better support aftermarket requirements.

Working with colleagues in purchasing & other cross-functional teams, you will be expected to expedite parts into JCB Service in order to support urgent customer requirements, such as vehicle off road parts, or to replenish stock levels where there has been unforeseen demand causing customer shortages. This requires the successful candidate to have strong communication skills, combined with the ability to build rapport quickly with a global supplier base.

A core component of the role relates to managing JCB’s customer and dealer expectations on the delivery of parts. A work-stream of this is JCB’s internal Techweb system, used to communicate with dealers, and you will be required to maintain regular, high quality communication with the global dealer network in order to deliver the industry’s finest customer support. As such, a sense of urgency will be pivotal to your success in the role.

The role has a number of work-streams and a large portion of the role operates on SAP, where having the ability to learn new systems quickly is vital, and experience of previously using the system is preferable. Furthermore any experience of operating the Syncron system would be highly beneficial though not essential. The maintenance of data relating to parts, including forecast parameters is a must. The role is specifically measured on targets related to inventory levels, stock-turn, risk of run-out, and arrears. As such, being able to work to specific KPIs on a weekly basis is very important.

You will work closely with a number of cross-functional teams, including the Purchasing Team, Customer Service, Technical Service, and global warehouse functions. Enquiries will be passed to the team via the global dealer network, and as such it’s critical that you are able to respond quickly to these demands.

Having a customer-focused mindset is the final salient component of this role. If it is important to the customer, it is important to us. These requirements must be at the heart of what you do every day.

Your Responsibilities as an Inventory Planner:

    • Planning and scheduling of forecast requirements from suppliers
    • Maintenance of part data quality on forecasting, and lead-times
    • Urgent response time to internal Techweb system requirements
    • Management of inventory levels & stock-turn to required targets

    • Responding to customer demands, and ensuring parts are available
    • Managing supplier relationships across your area of responsibility
    • Prompt resolution on goods-inbound discrepancies
    • Working with cross-functional teams to deliver the best solution for the customer

    About you:

    • Preferable previous experience in a planning role
    • Preferable knowledge of aftermarket parts business
    • Highly motivated
    • Strong relationship management skills
    • Excellent written & verbal communication
