  • We're now hiring for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in the JCB Backhoe team

    Reporting into the Backhoe Operations Director and part of the key leadership team this is a key role within the Manufacturing Management team with broad responsibilities for Operational Engineering and Business Management.

    A high degree of interaction with all disciplines is required with particular focus on New Product Implementation, innovation, and production improvements.

    The role will suit an individual with excellent people management skills, decision making skills and a passion for success.

    About your role

    • You’ll be leading all aspects of Manufacturing Engineering within the Backhoe Production facility including Process Engineering, Productivity, Innovation, Best Practice implementation and Change Management
    • Responsible for People planning & Capacity planning and ongoing capital improvement projects
    • You’ll lead the creation, validation of ongoing improvement of Process, Control Plans, Standards and Standard Operation Procedures
    • You’ll work closely with all other areas to ensure the effective introduction of New Products, Processes, Equipment into Operations
    • Leadership and development of a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Apprentices

     

    About you

    • You’ll bring an abundance of proactive problem solving and logical thinking
    • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a Manufacturing Engineering function.
    • Experience and skill associated with working in both a manufacturing and assembly environment.
    • Excellent planning, organisational, analytical, communication and collaboration skills.
    • Proactive and effective leadership and management skills with a proven ability to develop and nurture a team
    • Ability to encourage and facilitate change in manufacturing and assembly environments.
    • Experience in delivering change in manufacturing and assembly environments.
    • Professionally Qualified Engineer – Degree-Engineering / Management
    • Previous experience of management in a production environment
    • Good communication skills, ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
    • An excellent understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
    • Experience of delivering change through the utilisation of teamwork
    • Proven track record of introduction of new plant/equipment and processes
