    Overview of the role:

    Power Systems is a business unit within the JCB Group responsible for the design, development, and manufacture of engines for both JCB and OEM applications. 

    Due to an exciting period of growth, we have released the role for a Quality Engineer specialising in Advanced Product Quality Planning for our award-winning engines. Reporting into the Quality Manager this position will join our professional, dynamic team to support the delivery of business objectives in New Product Introduction through the development and implementation of excellent quality practices.


    About your role

    Working as part of a fast paced and integrated team, the role is primarily to support New Product Introduction and communicate customer specific requirements throughout the Power Systems supply chain. You will also coordinate AQP activities in accordance with Power Systems project planning teams. You will also monitor, control and continuously improve supplier quality to ensure components brought into the assembly plant are consistently to a high standard.  This will include supplier audit including PPAP, coordination of 8D resolution, and use of statistical analysis tools to verify suppliers’ processes are to an acceptable standard. 

    The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning & supplier management across a range of manufacturing methodologies. Proven experience in Hydrogen propulsion technology and fuel systems is preferred.

    JCB uses a global supply base and regular travel both within the UK and overseas is expected, with reasonable expenses covered according to our company policies.


    About you

    Practical experience of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).

    Practical experience in use of problem-solving tools such as 8D reporting and six sigma.

    You will also be a trained auditor with extensive proven experience of engine component manufacture and automotive quality systems. You will be very familiar with ISO9001:2015 and TS16949 as well as Fully conversant with AIAG Core Tools & CQI Special process Manuals.

    You will be an excellent team worker with a passion for the product and the tenacity needed to see things through. You will be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.
