    Overview of the role:

    We are currently looking to recruit a Logistics and Customer service Manager to oversee a logistics team of 3 that are responsible for ensuring the delivery of specialised goods on time, stock accuracy, managing 3PL providers and overseeing the compliance linked to local and international movement of goods and export laws and legislation. Reporting to the Worldwide Transport manager and based at our World Parts operation you will be tasked with developing and enhancing logistics capability, systems and process.

    The key accountabilities of the role will include:

    • Manage the logistics function to ensure a high level of customer service, and lead and develop a high performing team that works effectively within company policies and procedures, serving internal and external customers.
    • Ensure compliance with local and international movement of goods and export legislation.
    • Development of and adherence to policies supporting: HMRC Customs; UK, EU and USA export requirements; ITAR legislation; and economic sanctions.
    • Responsible for 3rd party logistics working alongside our 4PL partner, including cost controls, budgeting, and haulier relationship management. Day-to-day supervision of 3rd party freight forwarders and sourcing new logistic partners for global freight scope.
    • Responsible for the stock accuracy offsite, SAP accuracy, and goods in/out.
    • Management of customer discrepancies and approvals of credit claims.
    • Responsible for issuing KPI reports weekly, monthly, yearly, as well as input into forecasting, etc
    • Develop logistics capability- offering short, medium and long-term goals, SAP systems, people resource planning and process improvement.
    • Develop the logistics team to ensure highly motivated and performance driven individuals.

    The successful Logistics Manager will demonstrate the following experience:

    • A strong working knowledge of international export documentation and compliance.
    • Previous management/leadership experience within an international logistics/export/despatch operation.
    • Problem solving skills, capable of contribution to supply chain initiatives.
    • Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines.
    • Proven skills in process improvement, change management, team upskilling and metric lead working.
    • Ability to develop ideas and solutions, not simply repeat and work with current way of thinking.
    • Excellent numerical, organisational & communication skills.
