Overview of the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the JCB Parts & Service team for a General Manager of Supply Chain. The Parts & Service Operations team at JCB are responsible for the global distribution support for JCB’s Afttermarket through the purchasing and receiving of Parts & Attachments to the distribution to JCB Dealers and Major Accounts across its 19 global warehouses.
This is a varied and challenging role which forms a critical part of the Parts & Service team and our service to JCB customers. With ambitious growth plans for the business over the next 5 years and an ever changing and evolving supply chain landscape we operate within, we are looking for an individual to drive change and reinforce our business.
Your Responsibilities as a General Manager- Supply Chain Include:
Reporting to the Service Operations Director you will be responsible in securing supplies and transport across our global platform ensuring we deliver profitable business growth and excellent customer support.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the following critical areas:
Work alongside our Group Purchasing Team in supporting both today’s sourcing strategy but also that of the future. Identifying “full-cost” savings opportunities and benefits in supporting customers and our business requirements.
Identify supply and distribution flows providing direction for the operational distribution strategy.
The role is responsible for freight movement and spend and that of packaging to support JCB’s strive for areas of efficiency improvements and customer support.
Identify and deliver tangible measurements of JCB’s ambition to improve its environmental sustainability and carbon footprints.
Introduce full transparency within the supply chain embracing new technology as a vehicle to providing a world class service.
Be fully responsible and accountable for the Operational P&L striving for areas of Business and customer service improvements whist targeting cost reduction opportunities
The role requires a self-starting and motivated individual with leadership capabilities and decision making with an established background of supply chain management delivering efficiency improvements, cost savings and improved customer service.
He/she will have strong communication skills having the ability to communicate well at all levels internally and externally.
Have good coaching and mentoring skills to develop the Team and a drive for their own personal development.
The position will be based at JCB World Parts Centre, Uttoxeter. Elements of worldwide travel would be expected as part of fulfilling the role.
