Overview of the role:
The customer is at the heart of our business, and we understand that to communicate with them and make the brand a part of their world, we need to be active within the social environments that they operate. As Social Media Executive, you’ll take responsibility for representing JCB across all of the company’s social channels, addressing an audience of 2 million machine owners, operators and fans. The rewarding role will require you to assist with the day-to-day running of our global channels by sourcing content, copywriting and community management in order to drive engagement. A key player in JCB’s Digital team, you’d report directly to the Social Media Manager.
You’ll be a key voice for social media within our organisation; we understand that it’s changing rapidly and we want somebody to ensure that JCB is always at the forefront of social innovations. This means we’re looking for somebody who has experience in stakeholder management and strategic planning, who can integrate social media into our key business activities and campaigns.
Supporting our regional offices across the globe comes with the territory – a successful Social Media Executive will be able to impart knowledge and provide support to 20+ marketing managers across JCB’s worldwide organisation, leading the way with best practise on the Corporate and UK social accounts.
A key business priority is to grow our new online sales platform, generating more credible leads. With a paid social agency, you’ll support the Social Media Manager in both prospecting and retargeting tactics to increase social’s ROI.
You’ll have had previous experience looking after day-to-day social media as a full time role, with examples of creative content and campaigns that have led to high engagement.
An enthusiastic and experienced professional, with impeccable English and witty copywriting abilities. Creativity is key, in terms of every day content generation but also to come up with ideas to keep the brand visible and engaging. Both experience and a high level of understanding of social media best practise, how the algorithms work and how to beat them. An enthusiastic communicator and believer in the social media, who is comfortable communicating in words, videos and in front of an audience, you’ll be excited about delivering content that resonates with our followers. You’ll be the kind of person who knows how to bring calm to challenging situations, and can explain in detail how social media works to an audience which may not be as literate in the field.
A willingness to learn and develop knowledge of social media reporting and social media listening platforms to measure social performance and report back the success of social media campaigns back to the business.
An understanding or interest in the construction and agriculture industry would be of huge benefit, as you’ll soon need to be talking knowledgeably about our machines and understanding what makes them stand out from the others.
