  • JCB is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team at our Heavy Products site.

    Overview of the role:

    We are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer on a fixed term contract for a period of 12 months.

    The role will support the JCB Heavy Products Manufacturing and Assembly operations and be responsible for meeting quality, cost and continuous improvements within the business.

    Your Responsibilities as a Manufacturing Engineer:

    The key responsibilities are:-

    • Support for automated and robotic processes
    • Defining processes and standard times
    • Environmental, Health & Safety improvements
    • Support Quality, Cost & Growth initiatives
    • Tooling and equipment for new or changed product introduction
    • New process conception, definition and introduction
    • Process route definition, input to SAP of routes and process operation times
    • Continuous improvement of operational departments, products and processes
    • Implementation of JCB policies
    • Performance measurement
    • Manufacturing facility layout control
    • Creation and maintenance of process related SOPs
    • Preparation and implementation of Capital expenditures
    • Creation and review of PFMEA.
    • Welding, Fabrication and Machining.

    • Able to communicate at all levels
    • Able to seek and implement solutions
    • Computer literate
    • Confident facilitator
    • Good influencing skills
    • Able to work as an active member of a team and on own initiative with minimum supervision
    • CNC, SAP and CAD skills would be beneficial

    Knowledge

    • Good working knowledge of engineering & production principles
    • HND / Degree would be preferred
    • Proven track record of problem solving & implementing solutions within a manufacturing / production environment along with a sense of urgency to achieve results is preferred
