    Overview of the role:

    Here at JCB Golf and Country Club we’re serious about serving food that’s every bit as lush as our fairways. As Sous Chef, you’ll be an important player in that as you help lead the kitchen team and support – and sometimes deputise for – the Head Chef. You’ll also have plenty of scope to get creative and your input into menu creation will be invaluable in making JCB Golf and Country Club a dining experience to remember.

    With visitors from all over the globe coming to JCB Golf and Country Club for a world-class leisure experience, you’ll really be stepping it up by joining as a Sous Chef. This is an opportunity to really show off your skills to an audience who knows good food when they taste it. You’ll be working with a great team in a great kitchen and you’ll have access to the very best in organic produce via our links with Daylesford. Everything is in place for you to do what you do best.

    Currently set up for 45 daily covers, on special occasions such as dinners or tournament days (like the upcoming 2nd Rose Ladies Series) we can comfortably seat 80. As Sous Chef here, you’ll be helping grow those numbers by making each day better than the last. Tweaking processes on a quest for culinary perfection. You’ll be working at the UK’s newest and one of its best centres for golf – but you’ll have the ambition to make your food the main course.

    About you:

    As you’ll know from previous roles, being a great Sous Chef is about striking the perfect balance between quality support and inspiring leadership. You set an example when it comes to food standards, conduct, and doing things properly. Most importantly, you can really turn heads with the amazing food you produce. Your skills help keep the whole operation together and you’re someone who can always be counted on to keep a cool head and rally the team when the pressure’s on. Not to mention keeping up with paperwork and orders and helping others to learn new skills.

    Where you really shine, though, is in your creativity. You love food and you’re full of a million different ways to get others to share in your passion. You want to give your customers special dining experiences and you consider it your personal responsibility to make everything run smoothly so that your food makes someone’s day. It’s what gives you the energy to always be at one hundred percent for five full shifts per week.
