    One Stop Hire is a rapidly expanding and successful company looking for individuals who will help us shape our future and fulfill their own career ambitions. We are seeking to recruit a
    highly motivated Apprentice Hire Desk Operative based at our depot in Manchester.

    As an Apprentice Hire Desk Operative, you be awarded a Level 2 NVQ in Hire and Rental
    Operations. You will gain valuable on the job experience and you will also attend a 5 week
    modular training programme. The training focusses on sales and customer service
    techniques, as well as practical sessions and safe use and awareness on a wide range of
    tools and equipment.

    This course is part of the CITB suite of Specialist Applied-skills Programmes (SAP). As part of
    your course, you will receive additional support from CITB Apprentice Officers throughout
    the course.

    Our 18 month Apprenticeship Programme covers all the essential skills and principles you
    will need to become a Hire Desk Operative.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Learn how to run an effective hire desk
    • Manage stock control and purchasing
    • Drive sales and managing customer queries effectively whilst co-ordinating
    • drivers to ensure customers' needs are met
    • Maintain a high level customer service
    • Perform Office administration and credit control tasks
    • Liaise with all departments and provide assistance, where necessary
    • Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office and our bespoke
    • management system
    • Complete general clerical duties to include but not limited to photocopying,
    • mailing, and filing
    • Answering and dealing with general telephone enquires
    • Any other duties, as required

    Desired skills and qualities:

    • Passion for delivering excellent customer service to existing and potential
    • customers
    • Ability to adapt to changes on a daily basis and have a strong work ethic
    • Determination to succeed and the ability to prioritise workload
    • A keen eye for details and strong organisation skills
    • Excellent telephone communication skills
    • Essential knowledge of various Microsoft software: Word, Excel etc.
    • Ability to work closely with colleagues at all levels and communicate effectively
    • at all times
    • Maintain a balanced and consistent performance in your work

    Potential prospects to progress into a full-time role upon completion of this apprenticeship.
    You will be working for One Stop Hire and you will be also required to attend a 5-week
    modular training programme and perform regular on-site assessment, as part of your
    apprenticeship.
